Inter-collegiate badminton

KARACHI, Feb 1 Hosts Karachi College for Women were through to the next round after imposing a straight 2-0 win over Commecs College in the Karachi Board Inter-collegiate girls badminton championship at the former college courts on Friday.

In the other match of the day, Saudabad College beat Aga Khan Higher Secondary School by the identical score of 2-0.

Meanwhile, Gulshan College and Government College for Women Landhi/Korangi No 6 got a walkover against Cams College and Fatmiya College respectively the other day.

The other match between Trinity Higher secondary School against winner of Liaquat College and Bahria College, Gulshan, could not be played as the latter two were scratched for not showing up in an earlier fixture.

Saturday's fixtures

Sir Syed College v Government College for Women North Nazimabad Block K; Khatoon-i-Pakistan v Apwa College; Commerce and Economics College v Government College for Women Frere Road.
