Junior hockey trials begin today

ISLAMABAD, Jun 17 (APP) Two-day trials to select Pakistan team for the next month's Junior Asia Cup Hockey Tournament will commence at Naseer Bunda Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.


The president of Pakistan Hockey Federation, Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, and newly-appointed secretary, Muhammad Asif Bajwa, are also likely to be present at the trials on the second day Thursday.


Selectors Samiullah and Mudassar Asghar will watch the trials, accompanied by national junior coach Jahangir Butt who has been training the probables at the Naseer Bunda Stadium as chief selector Islahuddin is currently abroad.


Up to 16 players and two officials will be named for the Junior Asia Cup to be held at Hyderabad (India) next month.
