HYDERABAD, Jan 2 The executive committee of the Kotri Association of Trade and Industry at a meeting has taken exception to inordinate increase in gas price and demanded of the SSGC to review the decision.

The meeting pointed out that the increase would badly affect textile industry which was already in crisis and unable to compete in the international market.

The industrialists were suffering losses to the tune of tens of millions of rupees per day not only in production but also in labour charges for unproductive hours, the meeting said.

It said that due to recession in the global market and other factors, hundreds of workers had been rendered jobless and commercial activities paralysed.

It urged the government to reduce gas price to save the economy.
