HYDERABAD: Confrence of zoologists

HYDERABAD, Feb 26 Ways of controlling pest infestation was the focus of discussions at three of the 22 sessions of a three-day congress being held here.

The Sindh University's Zoology Department organised the 29th Pakistan Congress of Zoology International which culminated on Thursday.

More than 150 papers were read in all sessions.

The newly-elected president of Pakistan Zoology Society Dr Afzal Kazi said that 400 researchers in Zoology from all over the country and Iran and Bangladesh participated in the congress with nine plenary lectures delivered by the celebrated Pakistani scientists.

He said agriculture was discussed at length because farmers confront crop diseases which need to be controlled.—Bureau
