HYDERABAD, Dec 30 Pakistan People's Party MNA Syed Ameer Ali Shah Jamote inaugurated the Hesco's special customer service centre at the office of the Qasimabad SDO.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that it was the priority of the government to provide all the basic amenities to the people at their doorsteps. The basic purpose of this centre would be to resolve the billing problems of the consumers within three days, the MNA said.

Addressing the Hesco officials, Jamote said that the population of Qasimabad had increased manifold and therefore another sub-division should also be established in Qasimabad. No power project was commissioned during the last eight years as a result of which, the country today was facing power crisis, he said.

Nevertheless, he said, the government was striving hard to produce electricity by using Thar coal and hoped that the situation would improve in due course of time.

Speaking on the occasion, Hesco chief K.B.Qureshi said that it was due to the efforts of Mr Jamote that the customer service centre had been established for the benefit of the consumers of Qasimabad. He announced that another sub-divisional office would be established in Qasimabad in January 2009.

MNA Dr Mahesh Kumar Chawla, central president Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union Abdul Latif Nizamani and director operations Hesco Shaikh Nazeer also spoke.

Later, talking to the newsmen Hesco chief K.B.Qureshi said that the company would make all-out efforts to ensure uninterrupted power supply at majalis, imambargahs and procession routes during Muharramul Haram.

He, however, said that this was not possible without the cooperation of the consumers. He appealed to the consumers to use energy savers and to clear their dues on time.
