HYDERABAD, March 4 A couple of women peasants held a demonstration outside local press club here on Wednesday in protest against Manu Bheel, demanding action against him for allegedly kidnapping a young girl.

A case was lodged by Meena Kohli about the alleged kidnapping of her daughter Leela with Tandojam police in August last year. Meena Kohli along with her daughter, Leela and some other women peasants came to press club and sought action against Manu Bheel.

They said that Leela had been released by her tormentors in the Sikandarbad Hari camp although she was resident of Tandojam and the case was also lodged with Tandojam police.

Meena Kohli said that Leela stayed with her aunt on Tuesday night after her release. She said that Manu Bheel, Ghaino, Lal Khan Pathan and others, had allegedly kidnapped her while she was on her way to a medical store in Tanodjam.

Leela told a group of journalists that the kidnapers had sold her to a family who used to subject her to forced labour but then they allowed her to go.

Meena herself held lodged a case of attempted sexual harassment against Manu Bheel, Ramu Kohli and Ghaino under directives of sessions judge but the case was disposed of as cancelled class by investigation wing of Tandojam police on the ground that charges could not be proved.

INTERVIEW The Sindh Public Service Commission has announced that interviews for the posts of divisional head draftsman (BPS-13) in the Sindh works and services department, will be held on March 18 at the SPSC head office in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, the commission has announced the names of successful candidates, interviewed in January 2009, for various posts in health department.

Result for the post of assistant professor pediatrics BPS-18) has been withheld on the orders of Sindh High Court.
