HYDERABAD, March 15 Federal Sports Minister Pir Aftab Shah Jilani has said that dialogue is the only way to resolve any crisis and urged the Pakistan Muslim League-N leadership to return to the negotiation table.

He was talking to journalists at the wedding ceremony of son of Pakistan People's Party MNA Amir Ali Shah Jamote here on Sunday. Mr Jilani said that the PPP did not create the present crisis and even if it was responsible for it, dialogue remained the only solution.

He said that lack of confidence on both sides had led to the present situation and dialogue was necessary for creating trust. Her added that an offer of talks had been renewed on Saturday.

He said that present circumstances created confusion and certain administrative decisions had to be taken in the country.

He said that from the PPP side, everyone, including the president and the prime minister, was asking the other side to exercise restrain. “Do you think that sit-ins ever resolved issues?” he asked.

He said that the president, the prime minister and friendly countries were interested in defusing the present situation but even then some administrative decisions had become compulsory.

“Certainly there is ill will on the issue of (deposed) judges. Yet the prime minister says that commitments will be fulfilled,” he said.

“We are open to talks. Even India and Pakistan had to talk after a war. You have to return to negotiation table after a show of force in any case,” he said.

He denied that the PPP was backing out on commitments on the issue of deposed judges.

He said that those who were supporting lawyers' movement were united with the PPP on the charter of democracy.—Staff Correspondent
