KARACHI, April 3: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has said that the nationalization of educational institutions was a mistake and their denationalization will be a blunder. He was addressing the annual prize distribution ceremony of the SMC Government Boys Secondary School No. 4.

The Nazim said that education was among the priorities of the city government. “The city government has earmarked 31 per cent of its budget for education and 16 per cent for health, which is exemplary in the history of Pakistan.

Schools, before the inception of the city government, looked like the ruins of Moen-jo-Daro and had no doors and windows. Students were not provided sitting facilities,” he said.

The Nazim further said the city government had renovated such schools and was concentrating on improving the standard of education.—PPI
