SIALKOT, April 1: Dacoits and robbers took away gold jewellery, cash, a car, motorcycles and other valuables worth Rs2.4 million in separate incidents during the last 24 hours.

Three gunmen drove away with the car (LOU-5225) of trader Ashraf in Hundal village after holding him at gunpoint.

Thieves took away the motorcycle of Haji Salim parked inside his house In Roras, Uggoki.

Ten robbers stormed into the house of landlord Aslam in Ghuenky village, Daska, and took away 1,300 Saudi riyals, Rs100,000 in cash, gold ornaments, electric and other valuables worth around Rs500,000.

Armed men deprived on e Ilyas of motorcycle, Arshad of Rs3,000 and trader Adeel’s family of Rs65,000 in cash in the Sialkot city area.

Two motorcyclists snatched gold jewellery and other valuables worth Rs125,000 from sisters Rehana, Parveen and Sajida, in Talwandi Inayat Khan village of Pasrur tehsil when they were returning home after attending the death anniversary of their father in Gujranwala.

In Jinnah Town, Sialkot city, three dacoits looted gold ornaments, cash and other valuables worth of Rs100,000 from the house of trader Afzal’s sister.

Dacoits deprived 10 people, including councillor Subedar Murad Ali (retired), Rehmat Ali, Asghar and Suhail, of gold ornaments, cash, electronics and other valuables worth Rs500,000 by setting up a picket on Zafarwal-Boobak Marali-Narowal road, about 200 metres from police picket.

MURDERS: An alleged criminal killed his wife for stopping him to fire on a police squad in Dandpur Kharoliyan village of Daska tehsil on Monday night.

Police said a squad raided the house of Ishaq. On seeing the police, he opened fire on them. As his wife halted him from firing on the police, he shot and injured his wife.

Ishaq fled from the scene by firing shots in the air. The injured woman was taken to the Daska Civil Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

In Hassanwal, Uggoki, Saeed, 30, was axed to death by his younger brother over a domestic dispute.

ACCIDENT: A motor mechanic, Muhammad Billa, and his assistant sustained serious injuries in a gas cylinder explosion in a workshop on Narowal-Zafarwal road.

They were admitted to hospital in critical condition.
