45 schemes for Skardu

SKARDU, April 1: Forty-five development schemes would be completed during the current fiscal year in Skardu district with a total cost of Rs255 million.

It was informed at a meeting of the District Development Committee (DDC) here with the Deputy Chief Executive of Northern Areas, Haji Fida Mohammad Nashad, in the chair.

The meeting was told that the maximum amount would be spent on the education sector, in which 14 projects would be completed at a cost of Rs25 million. An amount of Rs91.5 million has been earmarked for the communication sector for nine projects while Rs80 million would be spent on six electric supply and maintenance schemes.

Speaking at the meeting, he expressed satisfaction at the pace of work and urged the heads of departments concerned to pay special attention to completing these projects in time, so that the people could take benefit from these projects.
