KHAIRPUR, March 31: The Tando Masti police have booked 112 villagers for holding a demonstration and blocking the National Highway.

The SHO, Tando Masti Khan, has lodged the FIR against 112 persons — including Riaz, Fazal Mohammad Mari Amanullah and other residents of Pir Chion village — for blocking the highway.

The villagers, carrying the body of Badshah Dino Kandhro, had blocked the highway near Siyal Pul by staging a sit-in to press the police to arrest his killers.

DEMO: The villagers of Kouro Phulpoto, Khairpur taluka, held a demonstration outside the press club here on Monday against the irrigation officials.

The protesters said that the 90-foot wide breach at Faiz Wah was caused by negligence and inefficiency of the officials.

They said that they had been complaining regarding weak embankment of the Faiz Wah but the irrigation official had not pay heed to their complaints.

The villagers demanded an investigation into the matter.
