Transfer order of TMO issued

RAWALPINDI, March 27: The Punjab government has issued transfer order of Tehsil Municipal Officer Col Najam (retired).

According to a notification issued by the local government and rural development department, the TMO has been asked to report to the services and general administration division, Lahore.

It is pertinent to mention here that the transfer order of the TMO was issued on February 14, but it was held in abeyance on the directives of higher military authorities which the TMO had approached, sources said. The new notification withdraws the earlier order.

After the new notification, the TMO went on a 10-day leave starting from Thursday. The sources said he had started efforts to get his transfer orders cancelled. Some senior army officers have been pressurizing the local government authorities to cancel the transfer, they added.

In another notification, Aftab Chohan, previously posted as TMO Jand, has been transferred to the Rawalpindi Tehsil as chief officer, Tehsil headquarter. He has taken charge of his new assignment.
