PESHAWAR, March 26: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal leadership is optimistic about the participation of over one million people in the peace march on Sunday in the provincial metropolis to denounce the US invasion of Iraq.

Speaking at a press conference at the press club on Wednesday the MMA provincial vice-president and Senator Prof Mohammad Ibrahim, said that people from every nook and corner of the province and tribal areas would take part in peace march.

He said that the NWFP chief minister and his cabinet members would also be among the marchers.

Giving details, he said that the march would begin from Ring Road Chowk at 2pm and passing through G. T. Road it would end at Hashtnagri, adding he said that Shah Ahmad Noorani, president of the six-party religious alliance, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other MMA leaders would lead the procession.

Condemning the US-led attack on Iraq Mr Ibrahim said that the US government had violated international laws and the UN Charter and began massacre of innocent people in Iraq.

The MMA leader said that the US or any other country had no right to change a regime by force and install a puppet government in any sovereign state.
