QUETTA, Sept 4 A sessions court in Sibi rejected on Friday an application seeking registration of an FIR against former president Pervez Musharraf and some other people for the murder of veteran Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti.

Judge Jan Mohammad Gohar said in his order that his court had no jurisdiction to direct the Dera Bugti police station to register the FIR because the incident had taken place in Kohlu district.

In his application filed on Aug 25, Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti, the eldest son of Nawab Bugti, had sought registration of the FIR against Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf, former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, former interior minister Aftab Ahmed Sherpao, former Balochistan governor Owais Ghani, former chief minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf, former home minister Shoaib Nausherwani and other members of the Balochistan cabinet.

Nawab Akbar Bugti was killed in a military operation in the mountains of Tartani in Kohlu district on Aug 26, 2006.
