SANGHAR, April 3 An under-trail prisoner Anees Mallah who was facing a blasphemy case, was found dead in the Sanghar district jail here on Friday night.

Some religious groups had put a price of Rs1 million on his head.

The case was registered against Anees Mallah two years ago when he had allegedly uttered some blasphemous remarks against the Holy Prophet (PBUH) during an Eid Millad-un-Nabi programme.

A case was registered at Sanghar police station on a complaint by Maulvi Mangrio. An attempt on his life was made at the district and session court last year when he was brought for hearing of the case.

The deceased had been denying the charges and claimed he was victim of personal vendetta.

According to sources, the killers threw out the body and till filing of this report it was still lying in the veranda.
