HYDERABAD, March 23: The huge procession, taken out here on Saturday on the Sindh Water Committee’s call against the construction of the Thal canal, adopted several resolutions.

One of the resolutions demanded that the construction of the Thal canal should be immediately stopped and its dug up portion should be filled.

Another resolution called for taking steps to permanently solve the water dispute between Sindh and Punjab.

Through another resolution, the participants of the rally pledged that Sindh people would never accept the Thal canal or any other canal or dam on the River Indus, and demanded that the province should be provided with its water share.

Participants of the rally described release of water into the Chashma-Jhelum and Taunsa-Panjnad link canals in the wake of acute water shortage in the Indus as being illegal.

Another resolution condemned the US invasion of Iraq.
