Aqeel and Mehvish grab titles

ISLAMABAD, March 22: Top seed Aqeel Khan claimed the ET Memorial Invitation tennis tournament defeating Asim Shafik in three sets at the Margalla Club courts.

In what was a well contested final, Aqeel dropped the first set 4-6 before winning the next two 7-5 and 6-3 to clinch a cash prize of Rs 15,000. Asim took home Rs 10,000.

Mehvish Chishtie took the women’s singles title outplaying Zara Omer 6-1, 6-1 while Tabish Raza, who beat Zain Abbas 2-6, 6- 0, 6-2, emerged the boys under-14 champion.

The tournament was organised in memory of late Eitzaz Azeem founder of the Margalla Tennis Club, who was known to his friends as ET.
