SUKKUR, April 13 Kandhkot police arrested Thatta Station House Officer Bashir Ahmed Jakhrani on Monday and locked him up at the A-Section police station.

Police sources said that the SHO was arrested on the charge of supplying arms and ammunition to his fellow Jakhrani clansmen who were at war with Bhayo tribesmen.

An informed source claimed that Mithal Khan Jakhrani, father of SHO Bashir Ahmed Jakhrani and an elder of Jakhrani clan, was allegedly involved in fanning bloody dispute between the two clans.

Sources added that last month police arrested Mithal Khan to pressurise him to resolve the dispute with Bhayo clan which he refused.

Mithal Khan was later released on the intervention of some influential persons, sources said.
