ISLAMABAD, April 19 The National Highway Authority will build a three-lane flyover on the main Takhbai-Chitral Road.

The Rs600 million 8.5km project was approved at a meeting held at the NHA headquarters on Monday.

Work on the flyover would be taken up in a few months, an NHA official told Dawn. He said that all vehicles going to Chitral, Kalam and Swat passed through Takhbai, causing huge traffic congestion in the area.

Its importance, the official said, would further increase after the construction of Lowari tunnel which was expected to be completed next year. It will be a gateway to central Asian republics. The meeting also discussed the Peshawar northern bypass project.— Bakhtawar Mian
