HYDERABAD, March 20: A DSP was found driving a snatched car here on Thursday in the premises of the Shahbaz Building.

The car was snatched from a Mukhtiarkar, Fayyaz, on June 30, 2002, in the jurisdiction of the B-section police station. He had lodged a report.

On Thursday, the Muthiarkar spotted the car in the premises of the Shahbaz Building and informed the Cantonment police station who after investigation found that the DSP had been using the car. The car was seized by the police.

During examination of chassis and engine numbers of the car it was found that it carried the number plate of another vehicle, AAF-263, snatched in the area of the Gizri police station, Karachi.

The car was later returned to the Mukhtiarkar with its actual number, ABR-236, which was verified from the chassis and engine numbers.

It was learnt that the DSP had recovered the car in his area and shown its seizure under section 550 Cr. PC.
