ISLAMABAD, Oct 10: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) has condemned the continuing US attacks against Afghanistan.

PTI central information secretary Akbar S. Babar said the US was playing into the hands of terrorists because the attacks had generated a wave of anger against the US. He said terrorism could not be countered by bombing a poverty-stricken populace into submission. The gunboat diplomacy, used to include Pakistan in the alliance, could destabilize it internally, he observed.

He criticized the double standards of the US, which claimed of protecting democracy through its war against terrorism on one hand and included undemocratic partners in its coalition on the other.

The PTI leader criticized the OIC for its failure to come up to the expectations of Muslims. By paying lip service and passing mundane resolutions, the OIC leadership had reinforced the public perception that in times of crisis, it would merely act as a puppet of the West, he maintained.
