Gough signs new deal

LONDON, March 18: England fast bowler Darren Gough signed a contract with his county side Yorkshire on Monday, but the injury-prone player will need to prove his fitness for the side to retain him for the entire season.

The 32-year-old paceman’s future in first-class cricket appeared in jeopardy when he was forced to drop out of England’s recent tour of Australia to undertake extensive treatment on his right knee.—Reuters
