MIRPURKHAS, March 18: The 10th death anniversary of Mohammad Khan Junejo was observed in the Khan Sahib Din Mohammad village here on Tuesday.

Hundreds of people, including former Senator Shah Nawaz Junejo, PML-Q leader Shahabuddin Shah Hussaini, and office-bearers of the PPP, PML-N and the PML-F, attended the anniversary.

Flower wreaths were laid at the grave of the former prime minister.

The participants offered Fatiha and held Quran Khawani.

Later, food items were distributed among people.

SUICIDE ATTEMPT: A jobless youth, Bhano, 22, son of Khanji Meghwar, tried to commit suicide on the occasion of Holi in Rahim Nagar here Monday night.

He was taken to the Mirpurkhas Civil Hospital from where he was referred to the LMC Hospital, Hyderabad.

MANGO VARIETY: The Sindh Horticulture Research Institute, Mirpurkhas, has prepared a new variety of mango.

Dr Atta Hussain Soomro, the director of the institute, told newsmen on Tuesday that a ceremony would soon be organized to introduce the variety.

He claimed the variety, named as Jagirdar, would give more yield and its taste would be better than some other varieties.

He said this variety would start fruiting after five to six years and its production was expected to be eight to 10 maunds per tree.
