67 ATI protesters booked

KHAIRPUR, Oct 2: The A-Section police, Khairpur, on Tuesday booked at least 67 people belonging to the Anjuman-i-Talba-i-Islam as they had taken out a procession against inmpending US attack on Afghanistan a couple of days ago.

They have been charged with the allegations of shouting slogans against the US, illegally blocking the city roads, and creating disturbance in the city.

The case has been registered under sections 117, 149, and 341 PPC.

SANITARY STAFF: The sanitation staff continued to boycott their work for the second consecutive day on Tuesday in Khairpur town.

More than 600 sanitation workers of the taluka council, Khairpur, gathered at the Phool Bagh and held a demonstration against the non-payment of their salaries since the last two months.

CRUSHED TO DEATH: A youth, Manzoor Hussain Sonio, was crushed to death under the wheels of a tractor trolley in Soomar Mallah village, near Babar Wada, Kot Diji Taluka, on Tuesday.

BIKE HIJACKED: Five unknown armed men on Sunday night deprived a person Imamuddin Janwari of his bike, cash rupees and wristwatch on the Setharja link road near Ranipur.

SUICIDE ATTEMPT: A youth identified as Nadeem Mallah of village Mallah tried to commit suicide here the other day.
