RAJANPUR, March 15: A robber was shot dead while two others injured in a shootout with police at Dajal village in Jampur tehsil on Friday.

Police said four robbers, armed with kalashnikoves, snatched a motorcycle from Muhammad Hashim, and drove through the Muhammadpur town. A police team had chased the robbers hardly three to four kilometres when the latter opened fire, which was returned. The police added that a brief shootout left accused Lachi, who belonged to Balochistan, dead and two others namely, Toti and Yasin, injured.

According to the police, the two injured drove away with motorcycles while another accused, Khuda Bakhsh, escaped on foot. A cop was also hurt in an exchange of fire, they added.
