PESHAWAR, Oct 10: The NWFP cabinet on Wednesday approved the ordinance for setting up of adhoc public accounts committee at the provincial level.

The cabinet meeting was presided over by NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah.

The meeting also discussed the working and role of the regional transport authority in the new district set-up. It was decided to form a committee in which transport associations would also be included to finalize the constitution of district transport authority.

It was proposed that the Zila Nazims would also be associated with this exercise.

Regarding the allotment of state land in Dera Ismail Khan to army, the provincial cabinet decided to follow the colonization of Government Lands (Punjab) Act 1912.

The meeting also directed the Board of Revenue to frame rules for the allotment of state lands to army.

The meeting expressed concern over the damages caused to public and private property in the recent protest demonstrations.
