DADU, March 11: One person was killed and 60 others were injured in an accident on the Indus Highway near Amri on Monday.

Camel-cart owner Gul Hassan Birhamani, 40, died on the spot and 60 passengers of a Larkana-bound passenger coach (No 1011) were injured when the coach collided hit the camel-cart.

The injured were taken to Amri, Sann, Hyderabad, Larkana and Sehwan hospitals.

ACCIDENTS: Mumtaz Ali was killed after he was run over by a Karachi-bound passenger coach on the Super Highway near the Nooriabad police station on Tuesday.

The driver escaped.

Gulab, 20, was killed when a Datsun pickup (No 0136) hit him near Jamshoro on Tuesday.

SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS: The district administration has deployed heavy contingents of the police and rangers at 64 mosques, Imambargahs and other sensitive places in the district.

SHOT DEAD: A villager was shot dead and his two relatives were injured in a clash over a land dispute in Allah Dito Chohan village, Khairpur Nathan Shah taluka, on Sunday.

The man killed was identified as Ghaus Bux, 36, and those injured were Mureed and Abdul Sattar.

The Rukkan police have registered an FIR against Abdul Rahim, Rasool Bux, Umer, Ayoub, Suleman, Maharam, Mohammad Ali and Abdul Aziz.

DEMO: A group of mosque school teachers staged a demonstration outside the press club here on Tuesday to protest against alleged misappropriation of the School Management Committees (SMCs) funds and appointment of junior teachers as supervisors.
