DADU: Woman, 2 daughters kidnapped

DADU, March 9: A woman and her two teenaged daughters were kidnapped by four armed men in the Mallah Chowk here on Saturday night.

The armed men barged into the house of Ilyas Mallah and after holding the inmates hostage at gunpoint kidnapped Malka, wife of Ilyas, Rabia, 18, and Nadia, 15, besides taking away gold ornaments and other valuables.

The Dadu police have arrested five suspects.

SHOT DEAD: A villager was shot dead by five armed men over a land dispute in the Qasbo village, Johi taluka, on Saturday night.

The man killed was identified as Abdul Ghafoor Leghari, 35.

The Qasbo police, on the complaint of Mohammad Paryal, registered an FIR against Mithal, Rahib, Dito and two unidentified persons.

DEMO: A large number of councillors and residents staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Sunday against the taluka municipal administration.

Led by councillor Bashir Ahmad Bhatti, Majod Ghalloo and Sohail Dawach, the protesters said the municipal administration had not installed streetlights in the town which had led to an increase in theft incidents.
