Need for ban on helmets

Published September 26, 2010

STREET crimes and target killings are increasing day by day, mostly being committed by two or more terrorists on a motorcycle. Despite ban on pillion riding they are never apprehended by law enforcers.

Perhaps, authorities are not aware of the fact that maintenance of law and order is ensured only if criminals are arrested and punished rather than taking ineffective measures of imposing ban on pillion riding and likewise putting people to great difficulties.

Please note, terrorists also use cars. It is a fact that criminals, using motorcycle for their brutal act, always wear helmets to hide their faces in order not to be recognised by the public.

My suggestion is to also impose ban on wearing helmets so that people present at the place of crime are able to see the faces of the criminals clearly, making their identification possible and, on the other hand, some one may take their footage with mobile cameras, making investigation by agencies easier.
