MIRPURKHAS, March 6: The Sindh minister for local government, Mohammad Hussain, has said various proposals and suggestions are under consideration to improve the district government system.

Speaking at a press conference at the Darbar hall here on Wednesday, the minister denied the Sindh government was interfering and creating hurdles in the district government system.

He claimed all the funds allocated for development schemes under different programmes had been released to the district government.

He gave an assurance that ban on recruitment would be lifted during the current month.

Mr Hussain said due to negligence of the Nazim of Mirpurkhas taluka and other officials concerned, heaps of garbage were lying in different areas and sewage water had submerged roads and streets in the town.

He said powers of ministers, district government and taluka and union councils were mentioned in the devolution plan.
