CM announces Rs100,000 for heirs

RAJANPUR, March 3: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has announced Rs100,000 compensation to the heirs of deceased DSP Naveed Ikram, according to Dera Ghazi Khan Range DIG Asif Nawaz.

Talking to newsmen, the DIG said the CM had also announced free residential, educational and medical facilities for the deceased’s children. The heirs would also get one-day salaries of Range police constables and 15-day salaries of officials from ASI to SP. He condoled with the family.

Later, the DIG visited the DHQ Hospital and inquired after the injured. Assuring the earliest arrest of the culprits, he told the injured that the Punjab government would set up check posts at mountainous areas and provide equipped vehicles to the officials.
