JACOBABAD, March 3: A group of assailants shot dead a woman, Rani, and injured her nephew, Liaquat Sabzoi, by opening indiscriminate fire in Jam Jehan Khan Sabzoi village, Kandhkot taluka on Sunday.

Body of the deceased was taken to Kandhkot hospital for autopsy but due to non-availability of a lady doctor, it was shifted to Jacobabad Civil Hospital.

The firing is believed to be the result of an ongoing dispute over two acres of land.
