PESHAWAR, March 1: The People’s Students Federation, NWFP, has planned to hold protest rallies on Monday to denounce PPP MPAs’ role in the Senate elections.

Speaking at a news conference here at the Peshawar Press Club on Saturday, PSF provincial chief Kashif Khan, Arshid Baloch, Farha Aslam and Ejaz Yousufzai alleged that the nine MPAs had ditched Sardar Ali Khan, PPP nominee for the Senate, and got the party defeated.

They appealed to the high-command of the Pakistan People’s Party to expel all these MPAs who had violated party discipline and got elected as independent candidates.

“We don’t think that the PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto would let them go scot-free,” they added.

They said that the PSF would hold its first demonstration in Peshawar on Monday against the MPAs and explain to the PPP workers and others about the anti-democratic and anti-people’s role of the provincial assembly members.

The district and divisional organizations would also organize demonstrations, they claimed.
