Student dies, 20 hurt as school bus overturns in Swat

SWAT: A private school bus overturned on Monday after reportedly suffering brake failure in the Darmai Landi Cham area of Upper Swat, leaving one student dead and 20 others injured.

Initial reports said that over 40 girl students were travelling in the bus when the accident occurred. Three women pedestrians were also injured after the vehicle lost control and overturned.

Rescue teams provided first aid to the injured and shifted more than 20 students and the injured women to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

A student, identified as Hoorain, a resident of Landi Cham, succumbed to her injuries.

The police launched an investigation into the accident.
