LARKANA, Feb 28: The police on Friday recovered 8.5 kilogrammes of gold, which was stolen from the lockers of the Naudero branch of the National Bank of Pakistan, from the Hayat Huilo village.

The police said that the recovery was made after private security guard Abdul Wahid Kalhoro confessed to hiding the stolen gold jewellery in a farm near his village during the interrogation.

The police said that the duplicate locker keys, which the guard had surreptitiously prepared, had been recovered from a place near the bank, along with a bunch of other keys.

Badaruddin Mashori, regional compliance chief of NBP, Larkana region, told Dawn that the police had not yet handed over the recovered gold.

He said that a total of 14,700 grammes were found to have been missing.
