Women assured of due representation

Published February 28, 2003

QUETTA, Feb 27: Balochistan Assembly Deputy Speaker Mohammad Aslam Bhootani has said women will be given effective representation in the provincial cabinet.

He was speaking at the concluding session of a two-day workshop on “Convention On All Kinds of Discrimination Against Women”, organized by Aurat Foundation, Quetta.

He dispelled the impression that coalition partner MMA was opposed to induction of women ministers in the Jam-led government. “There is no difference among coalition partners over induction of women in the cabinet,” Mr Bhootani said and added that when the MMA had contested on women seats and got elected its candidates then how they could oppose them in the cabinet.
