PESHAWAR, Feb 26: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl) on Tuesday alleged that some elements are hatching conspiracies to destabilize the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal government.

Talking to newsmen at Chief Minister’s House, JUI spokesman Mufti Kafiatullah said Senate elections had proven that the MMA had become stronger and no one could buy loyalties of its members.

He claimed that some quarters offered huge amounts to the NWFP Assembly members to buy their votes for the election, but they turned down the offers and voted for the alliance’s nominees.

He alleged that unconstitutional and unlawful methods were adopted and the practice of horse-trading was revived.

Despite the offers the MMA members voted for the alliance’s nominees but a few votes were rejected on technical grounds, he said.

He alleged that conspiracies were being hatched to dislodge the MMA government.
