HYDERABAD, Feb 26: Sindh Textbook Board chairman Mushtaq Ahmad H. Qureshi has said that the distribution of free textbooks among students of class I to V has been started on Feb 23 and hoped it will be completed before the commencement of the new academic session.

Meanwhile, the chairman on Feb 21 and 22 paid surprise visits to various printing presses of Karachi, engaged in printing of textbooks of class I to X for the academic session of 2003-2004.

He warned the publishers that legal action would be taken against them if they did not ensure the availability of textbooks up to March 15.

MBBS EXAMS: The additional controller of examinations, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, on Wednesday announced that the last date for submitting forms for second professional MBBS examinations of 2003 had been fixed at March 22.

Meanwhile, the controller of examinations of the university announced that practical of final professional MBBS in the subject of medicine would start from March 20.

DIRECTOR: The director of Sindh research and assessment, Jamshoro, on Wednesday said 23 elementary colleges, one agro-technical college and three colleges of education were functioning in the province under the directorate of research and assessment.

ENTRY TEST: The Isra University has announced the results of test, conducted for admission to various degree courses on Feb 23. The interviews will be conducted from March 4 to 8.

DATE EXTENDED: The director, admissions, University of Sindh, on Tuesday extended the date for submitting forms for admission to MA English, evening programme, academic session of 2003-2004, up to March 1.
