LAHORE, Feb 23: District Nazim Mian Amer has ordered provision of incentives for starting radiocab service in the provincial metropolis and identification of suitable spots for taxi stands.

The Nazim issued the orders while presiding over a meeting held here to review the public transport arrangements.

He said the CDG was negotiating with a Chinese company for the operation of double-decker buses in the city. The company had approached the federal government for establishing a bus assembly plant in the country.

He said the city government also planned to phase out the diesel-operated public transport gradually to check environment pollution and replace it with the CNG-operated transport.
