SIALKOT, Feb 15: Gujranwala DIG Mohammad Iqbal Malik has said that more arrests are possible within the next 24 hours in connection with the Sialkot dryport tragedy.

Talking to newsmen here on Saturday, the DIG said the police were still interrogating the main suspect, Mohammad Ameenuddin alias Irfan Memon and had collected useful information regarding the container blast at Sialkot dryport in Sambrial.

Police have collected samples of various items from the blast site and sent those to laboratories for chemical examination, he added.

ROBBERY: Two unidentified armed dacoits looted gold ornaments, cash and electric appliances worth Rs800,000 from the house of a local trader, Haji Mohammad Riaz, in Model Town here late Friday night.

The dacoits drove away in the trader’s car, which they later abandoned in the jurisdiction of Motra police station.

The police have registered the case.
