NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Feb 15: A large number of growers of the Siyal Minor took out a procession in the Mohabbat Dero town here on Saturday against the executive engineer, Rohri irrigation division.
After marching on various roads, the growers assembled at the local press club.
The protesters said the Siyal Minor had not been supplied water since for the last two months and their crops were being destroyed and they were sustaining huge losses.
They alleged the executive engineer was demanding bribe from them for release of water in the area.
The growers threatened to continue their protest if water was not released in the Siyal Minor within three days.
CLASH: A man was killed and five others were injured in an armed clash between Lakha and Dahri tribesmen in the Lakha Road town here on Friday.
Mehar Dahri, Moharram Dahri and their friend, Mohammad Juman Khaskheli, were injured when Lakha tribesmen attacked them.
Later, in another attack by Lakha tribesmen, Imamdin Dahri and his friend, Ghulam Shabbir Khaskheli, were injured.
Allah Wasayo Lakha was injured by members of his tribe on suspicion that he was supporting the Dahris.
The injured were taken to the Kandiaro Taluka Hospital. Mehar Dahri, Moharram Dahri and Imamdin Dahri were referred to the Nawabshah hospital where Mehar Dahri died.
Three separate FIRs were registered at the Lakha Road police station.
