Guard killed in firing on van

NOWSHERA, Feb 15: A guard of a private security agency was killed and three injured when highway robbers opened fire at their vehicle at Salahkhana, Cherat Road, on Friday.

The officials of the security agency, Pheonix, were carrying cash from a bank when the robbers fired at the vehicle.  

The robbers fled without taking away the cash as the inhabitants of the area rushed to the spot after hearing gun shots. Nasrullah, guard No.2 in the vehicle, died.

The vehicle, No.JX-8008, Karachi, was coming from Salahkhana, Cherat, with cash from Muslim Commercial Bank and Untied Bank.

 The driver, Fazal Rabi, told newsmen that the robbers had placed stones on the road for stopping the vehicle.

He claimed that when the vehicle reached the spot, three hooded robbers started firing from the hills and the vehicle collided with the hill.
