RAWALPINDI, Feb 15: The Punjab government has accepted the resignation of the chairman of the Board of Governors, Rawalpindi Medical College and allied hospitals, Air Marshal Arshad Chaudhry (retired).

This was stated by Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi while talking to reporters at the press club on Saturday.

“He wanted to leave and we do not feel it right to stop him,” he added.

About the crisis at the Holy Family Hospital, Mr Elahi said Dr Nisar Cheema had been reinstated after thorough examination of the situation and there was no question of not giving him the charge of the medical superintendent.

To a question about the Justice Mujadid Mirza Commission report, he said the government was studying its findings and would be taking them to the assembly for discussion.
