MARDAN, Feb 10: Federal Minister for Water and Power Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has urged all the political parties to honour the people’s mandate and seriously work for the solution of their problems.

“The people want the solution of their economic problems and are not interested in empty slogans and rhetoric,” he said while speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of Mardan district bar here on Monday.

The minister said the unexpected election results had given a clear message that the political parties should work for brining political stability as the goal of economic stability would remain elusive without it.

He said the government and the opposition should evolve a smooth working relationship for strengthening the democratic institutions.

Aftab Ahmad Khan lauded the contribution made by the legal fraternity in the restoration of democracy, saying that the lawyers had always played a leading role in this regard.
