19 killed in Jherruk road accident

THATTA, Nov 26: Nineteen people were killed and 36 others injured when two coasters collided head on near Jherruk, some 62km off here on National Highway, on Monday.

A Hyderabad-bound coaster (LSB-7269) owned by M/s Kaka and Company while overtaking a truck, collided with the other coaster (PE-4706) coming from the opposite direction near the Hameed Farm.

Thirteen passengers from both vehicles died on the spot and six others died on their way to a hospital in Hyderabad.

The bodies and injured were brought to Liaquat Medical University Hospital Hyderabad by Edhi volunteers.

Our Hyderabad correspondent adds: Seven of the dead were identified as Khushi Mohammad, Juggi, Laxhmi, Sahiba, conductor Juman, and drivers of the two vehicles, Ahmed Shaikh and Raheem Memon.

Bodies were lying in the mortuary for identification.

The injured included Ameer Bukhsh, Zahida, Imdad, Hashim, Sikandar, Rafique Ahmed, Raheema, Faisal, Badam, Mohammad Qasim, Akbar Ali, Mohammad Yaqoob, Mohammad Urs, Azeem, Lachhman Das, Saleh Mohammad, Teeja, Buradi, her husband Dost Ali, Yaseen, Banu, Hussain, Waal Bai, Sajjan, Mohammad Siddique, and Ikramuddin.
