FAISALABAD, May 7: Elections have been postponed in NA-83 and PP-51 constituencies because of the death of independent candidate Amjad Rabbani.

Rabbani suffered a heart attack on Tuesday and passed away.

He has been contesting the election as an independent candidate in the NA-83 constituency with cap as his election symbol. He was also in the run for PP-51, Jhumra.

Former Punjab Assembly speaker Afzal Sahi is one of the prominent candidates contesting election in the PP-51 constituency.

On May 5, three Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf supporters were gunned down by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz activists over political rivalry.

The postponement of elections in both constituencies has been notified.
