Third gold for Zulfiqar

LAHORE, Feb 3: Zulfiqar Ali, of Wapda claimed his third gold medal in the 52nd National Cycling Championship when he won the 1000m sprint on third day at the National Velodrome on Monday.

Zulfiqar, clocked 12.13 seconds to grab first position. Dilsher Ali also of Wapda covered the distance in 12.81 seconds to take the second spot while Zafar Hussain (Railways) finished third with a timing of 13.1 seconds.

In all, Wapda with 100 points are leading the championship. Railways with 36 points, Balochistan seven, Sindh five and Punjab three are following the leaders.

A 42 kilometre individual road Time Trial is the only event to be held on Tuesday.
