5 killed, 17injured in accident

JOHARABAD, Jan 31: Five people were killed and 17 others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck near Mauza Botala, 15 kilometres from here, on Friday.

A passenger bus (LHP-6493) was going to Lahore from Mianwali. When it reached near Mauza Botala, it collided with a truck (FDW-9833) as a result of which bus conductor Rashid Shah, his helper Abdul Malik, passengers Alam Sher, Muhammad Sadiq and an unidentified man died on the spot.

The injured people were admitted to the Joharabad District Headquarters Hospital where the condition of five of them was stated to be serious.Police are investigating.—APP
