Woman, daughter killed in accident

KHAIRPUR, Jan 28: A woman and her daughter were killed and two men were injured in two separate accidents in different parts of Khairpur district on Tuesday.

A bus (LDO-1839) hit a woman, Sodhi, and her three-year- old daughter, Imrana, when they were crossing the National Highway in Ranipur.

Both died on the spot.The police impounded the bus but its driver escaped.

Sodhi had come to Ranipur from Mirpur Mathelo to attend the annual urs of Gaji Shah.

Meanwhile, two men, Ghulam Abbas Shaikh and Lal Bukhsh Maitlo, were seriously injured in a head-on collision between two wagons on the National Highway here near Salimabad Colony.

They were admitted to the Civil Hospital, Khairpur.

ROBBERY: Some unidentified robbers took away two motorcycles, belonging to Amanullah and Ghulam Nabi Shaikh, from here on Monday night.

FIR: The Baradi Jatoi police on Tuesday registered an FIR against the general secretary of Sindh Hari Committee after a clash between two groups of the Lashari tribe in the Shahan Lashari village.

At least five people have been killed in clashes between the two groups during the last three years.

A. Bux Lashari, who was injured in the latest clash, is said to be in critical condition at the Larkana hospital.

All the schools in the Shahan Lashari village and the Samai Lashari village have been closed and a large number of people have started migrating from the two villages, fearing more armed clashes.
