KGA Gymkhana enter semifinals

KARACHI, Nov 25: KGA Gymkhana were the first team to book a berth in the semi-finals of the Sixth Danish Ramazan cricket tournament, registering a 50-run victory over Saddar Town Cricket Club on Sunday at the KGA ground.

Deciding to have first use of the home wicket, KGA raced to 168 for 5 in the 20 allotted overs, with Calvin Gonsalves unbeaten with 50, Hilary Rodrigues 44, Rajash Ramesh 30 and Jonathan Rodrigues 20, enjoying themselves with the willow.

Haq Nawaz bagged 2/33 for the fielding side.

Chasing 169 runs for victory, Saddar Town never recovered after losing two quick wickets and could only muster up 118 for 9 in their 20 stipulated overs, although David DeCruze had a brisk knock of 31 runs, aided by skipper Asif Azeem and Mohammad Yousuf with 20 runs apiece.

Rajesh Ramesh spearheading the KGA attack claimed 2/11 and was well supported by the spinners, Kevin Borges 2/2, Hilary Rodrigues 2/23 and Andre Bernard 2/24.
